A Word from the Director    Kylie Linnell

It has been an absolute pleasure working with this cast and crew to bring you this production of Dial M for Murder.

I have always been a fan of old movies and in particular have loved Alfred Hitchcock’s movies, because of the build up of suspense. Dial M for Murder has this type of thrilling suspense in the story line and hopefully the murder scene will leave you on the edge of your seat. It has been a wonderful challenge bringing this to the stage and choosing a play which is set in the 50’s has been a great experience in terms of exploring the different use of the English language in that era, the sets and the costumes.

I have a few people to thank, who have helped me incredibly over the past few months and who have been encouraging and supportive of me making my debut as director. I would like to thank the Southern Peninsula Players for giving me the opportunity to sit in the director’s seat for the first time. I would like to thank Evan Knoble for his support at every rehearsal and for assisting to design and build the sets. I would also like to thank Alan Tonkin for his support, encouragement and words of wisdom along the way. A special thank you to Gabe Noonan, Paula Cameron, Di Newland and Tom Harris for their help during the production.

I would also like to thank Janet Parette who has been our prompt and always willing to help out during the rehearsal period. I would like to congratulate the cast on their commitment and dedication, they have worked very well together as a team and have worked hard to bring you this production. I am very proud to have worked with such a dedicated group of people and hope I get the opportunity to work with them or along side them again in the future. I hope you enjoy our production of Dial M for Murder.
