Dimboola a big hit for SPP.

Over 800 people flocked to be part of the Dimboola experience and most attendees enjoyed themselves immensely.

Sally Montgomery is to be congratulated as the Director for assembling a cast and crew that bought a completely new experience to the regular SPP audience.  Dinner theatre has now been successfully tried but we all wait with baited breath for the financial report to see if all the hard work was worth the income.  Preliminary estimates place the profit margin in the vicinity of $3,000 to $3,500 but this needs to be validated by the Treasurer at SPP's next meeting.

Congratulations Sally.

  • Motions to amend Constitution to include Public Fund and Discipline/Grievance Procedure were passed.
  1.                Public Fund:  In order for us to be eligible to register as a Cultural Organization under the Taxation scheme, we needed to have a Public Fund in place to receive and administer Donations.  Once this Public fund is in place we can register and then be able to offer Tax Deductibility on all donations over $2.00
  2.                Discipline and Grievance Procedure: This section was amended to bring our constitution into line with the Associations Incorporation Regulations Model Rules for Incorporated Associations.

Access for All Project Committee Formed.

Possibly the most exciting project we have undertaken, the Access For All project, has comenced.

This project was conceptualised by our President, Kylie, and is an exercise in community partnerships with The Mornington Peninsula Shire, Villa Maria Aged and Disability Services, SPP and Rosebud Astral Theatre Society.

Kylie sought funding from the Shire in 2007 for a Ticket Subsidy Scheme in order that we may encourage audience participation from frail aged and disabled people who never have the opportunity to see our shows.

Bedside Manners Opens to Acclaim.  1st May2008.

Bedside Manners opening night was a tremendous success.  Artistically and technically this show has challenged SPP's production team but they have met the challenge admirably.  SPP has been supported well by the Probus club attending all their first night performances and providing a supper afterwards.  The Probus Club is a very fair critic and has stated that this is a most enjoyable show and should not be missed.

SPP Logo Competition  28th March 2008
