Amalgamation Talks a "Non-Event"

At SPP's last AGM it was put on the table by the retiring President, Jon Churchward, that we should explore the possibility of an amalgamation with Rosebud Astral Theatre Society and this led to some emotive discussion.  Astral was approached to join in with SPP in a SWOT analysis and discussions as to what model, if any, would best serve the interests of both groups retaining their individual identities whilst cutting duplicated costs and also co-ordinating their activities in order to prevent each group from inadvertently pulling the rug out from under the other.

Some would see that the benefits could be gained, others would remain reluctant to change...  this is a given in any situation such as this.  What we had not anticipated, though, was the abject lack of interest which saw the meeting attended by a mere 4 members along with the presidents of both SPP and Astral.

It was decided that, in order for people to be able to give their comment, a mail-out would now need to be conducted.
